Location and map

Phenomenon 2003 will happen at Daramalan College, Cowper Street Dickson, ACT.

Important note: due to renovations, the entrance to the Daramalan car park is currently on Morphett Street rather than Cowper Street. There is still lots of parking, however.

How to get there

Local

Head north up Northbourne Avenue from Civic. Turn right at Morphett Street. Daramalan's parking entrance is off Morphett Street.

Interstate

Northbourne Avenue and Antill Street is the first big intersection after the Barton Highway. If you're coming from Sydney you're already on Northbourne and you'll pass the Barton highway on your right. If you're coming from Melbourne, the Barton Highway ends at Northbourne Avenue. Don't try to keep going straight on. Turn right onto Northbourne.

From Northbourne, turn left at Morphett Street and look for the car park entrance on your left.

Food, Glorious Food

Pheno will run an instant coffee and tea service, but not a canteen. The reason for this is that Daramalan is within short staggering distance (less than 5 minutes) of Dickson shops, including a Woolies, Maccas, KFC, Ali Baba's, Cragel's Bagels, several takeaways, and more Chinese and SE Asian restaurants than you can shake a stick at (my arm got tired after five). Dickson shops also includes autotellers, a chemist, news agent, service stations, and a musical instrument shop.

The banquet this year will be held at Zeffirelli’s, on Woolley St, Dickson. This is a short stagger from the con site. For the banquet, they are offering a wide range of pizzas (they’re famous for them, and gosh are they good), and pasta. They also have a bar and a wide selection of wines. Pizza, pasta and garlic bread are included in your banquet price. Drinks are not (sorry!).

Post-con drinkies will be held at O’Neill’s Irish Pub, which is across the road from Zeffirelli’s. They have Guinness (and other drinks for you philistines who don’t partake of the creamy black goodness). You can get snacks from $5 and dinner from $10 — they have a variety of yummy stuff on their menu and their kitchen will be open until 9pm.
